Quick Update

Today marks week three for Jordan and Jaxon. The boys are doing pretty good. Jaxon gained another ounce yesterday, placing him at about two pounds 1.3 ounces. Jordan is up to one pound 11.6 ounces. The boys are eating more and more as well. They started off on 2 cc's of milk every 3 hours and now Jaxon is taking 13 cc's every 3 hours, while Jordan is taking 12 cc's every 3 hours.

Jordan is no longer receiving lipids through his IV. He is receiving a fortifier in his milk to give him an extra dose of calories each day. Jaxon is getting closer to no longer needing his lipids and receiving fortifier in his milk.

Thanks again for your prayers. I was checking the stats on the website today and the numbers are astounding. Here are a few stats from the month of April:

  • Averaging 2,200 hits per day
  • Averaging 168 different users per day
  • Total hits for the month 61,621

Keep in mind that these stats don't include April 1st and April 2nd when the site wasn't even in existence. I said all of that to say this. Our boys are on the minds of a lot of people. That is evidenced by these statistics. I know that quite a few, if not most, of you are also praying for Jordan and Jaxon. Prayer is powerful and we know that by the progress that the boys have made thus far.

Please continue to pray for Jordan and Jaxon. We pray every night that the Lord continue to take care of them and be with those that are making decisions on their behalf. We want Jordan and Jaxon to grow physically so that when they reach the age that they understand who the Lord is and what he is done, they will be committed to a lifetime of service to him.

We were overseas with our preemie. And no family whatsoever - our folks didn't even have passports yet! But the church in England helped carry us through as well as all the prayers from the US and our brethren there. So we also know the extremely powerful effect of prayer! And the outpouring of love and support from the brethren at Wembley so impressed our nanny we'd hired (hey, it was England and we were having twins with a 5 year old a 1-1/2 year old at home already) that she wanted to know what this group was that loved like they did!

She was a vicar's daughter and had never seen such an outpouring of love and support. Mike studied with her and she became a Christian - eventually marrying a man who became a minister in the church. The Lord does move in mysterious ways!

Glad to hear of the boy's victories! Makes my heart sing. :)

We love you guys! We will be coming up to Houston sometime soon and will try to see you. We pray for you and think of you constantly. Jyusef, your video reading to your little one made me cry!

2200 hits per day divided by 168 users = an average of checking the site 13 times a day, lol.

Okay, so that's probably not the way those numbers work, but I feel a bit better that I'm not the only one who sits here and hits 'refresh' hoping for more updates. ;-)

Tell Jaxon and Jordan that I love them and hope to meet them soon. :-) Hugs and prayers!

Your boys are in my daily prayers. I want every calorie to stick to their little bones, and for that grip around your finger to become so strong that it makes you flinch! :) We hope you guys feel the warmth of all of our prayers.

Um . . . don't the rest of you check the site 13 times a day? I thought that was normal. (I kid, I kid - maybe) ;-)

We never would have made it through Molly's pregnancy and birth without the church here in Katy and the strength that God gave us. The NICU nurses were impressed with the outpouring of support for Molly. The other little babies in the NICU with her didn't get half the attention that Molly got. They asked me once if I had a lot of family in town since there were so many people coming to the window to look at her. I just laughed and said that that was just my church family coming to see their newest baby. Others notice, that's for sure!
