HOORAY!
I am one excited momma tonight! Jordan has reach the 2 pound mark!!! I almost jumped out of my chair when the nurse told us tonight. I'm so proud of both of them and I continue to be amazed at their progress each and everyday. As far as care goes, not much has changed today. Jordan should be done with his IV in the next day or so. He is no longer getting TPN's just dextrose. They were originally going to discontinue the IV on Saturday but his sodium level was a little high so they have kept it a little longer. His sodium is much better now so hopefully tomorrow the IV line will come out.
Now that we are at Children's things are done a little differently. The main thing is that we can hold the boys as much as we want. I held both of them today and nothing feels better than your children knowing right away that their momma has them. As I mentioned in an earlier post Jaxon is not as big of a snuggler as Jordan but, when I hold him it's a completely different story. I LOVE IT! This afternoon when I was holding him it was like he just melted in my arms. I held Jordan tonight and he was really fussy when the nurse was taking him out his isolette. As soon as the nurse handed him to me he opened his eyes and instantly relaxed. I thank God everyday for precious moments like these. It wasn't too long ago that I wondered if I'd ever be able to experience something like this. I have to admit that when I hold my boys I often think of my sweet angel Ashlyn. It's hard not to think about the what would have been when you lose a child. As much as I miss her I know that God has a plan. Every night before we leave we pray with our boys and always thank God for everything. When I rock them I remind them of how many people love them and how lucky they are to have so many people praying for them. I also remind them that they are lucky to have their own guardian angel watching over them that just happens to be their big sister. We will never forget our sweet Ashlyn and we couldn't ask for a better angel to watch over the boys.
Please continue to pray for the boys. We love you guys!

Yay Jordan! I guess he's taking his daddy's challenge to heart! ;)
I'm so glad you get to hold and help with your boys more often now - I know having their mom and dad around more is such a comforting thing to them!
Keep on growing boys! Hugs and prayers! ~ T
Ashlyn and our Benjamin are up there together - and in my "heart of hearts", I see my Dad holding both their hands and telling them about us as well as when Tim was growing up and his friend, Crichelle. I know it probably doesn't work exactly that way, but I find it comforting just the same. We never forget those babies that we held onto for such a short time but will hold in our hearts forever.
Glad both boys are getting some meat on their bones and that you have such a good supply of momma milk for them!
Hi, Crichelle! Glad things are going so well. Also happy to hear you are getting some precious mommy bonding moments!!!
Crichelle,
So very true...When Peyton prays he thanks God by name everyone in his family. He thanks God for mom, dad, Michael, Megan, and me. Just think one day your boys will do the same. I'm so happy you are now able to hold your boys whenever you want! There is a special bond between a mom and her boys!
I check everyday (sometimes more than once) to see how ya'll are doing. Give the boys lots of kisses and tell them to keep up the great progress!
It sounds like it won't be long and you will be chasing 2 strong little boys all over the place. WHAT A BLESSING that will be. I hope they make lots of noise in church so everyone will know their prayers were answered. We are so happy for you guys...all 4. Keep your sweet memories of Ashlyn because they are not meant to be forgotton. Happy Mother's Day!
I am so excited that you guys have this blog...I love checking it to get updates! We will continue to pray for you!
What a great Mothers day present! I'm so glad Jordan is now 2 lbs!! Y'all are in our prayers!
