Moving on up!

It's been a while since we last updated and we apologize for that. There has been a lot of things going on the last couple of days. I receive a call Friday around 2:00 from the hospital from the boys nurse. Let me remind you that everytime I see TCH on the caller id my heart junps into my throat. The nurses are really good about starting off by saying "your boys are fine" and then they go on with the reason for the call. Well once my heart was back in my chest where it belongs, the nurse proceeded to tell my that my boys were being transferred to Level 2!!! For those who don't know what this means let me explain. In each hospital there is a newborn nursery and a Level 2 NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). In select hospitals that are more equipped to handle critical babies there is a Level 3 NICU. Most older preemies (34 to 38 weekers) are sent to Level 2 even if it's only for a few days. The boys have been in Level 3 from the jump. The have finally graduated (and pretty early I'll say). Jordan is the only baby I've seen that is not in an open crib as of yet. He just needs to gain a few more ounces and he will be good to go. Level 2 is a lot more hands on for the parents and the ratio for baby to nurse is now 4:1 (level 3 was 2:1). The boys are doing very well with this transition. Last night Jyusef commented on how much more calm Mr Jordan seems to be when he's getting his diaper changed. That I credit to the nasal cannula.....SOOO much better than the CPAP. The boys are definately growing like weeds. Jordan gain 80 grams over night and Jaxon gained 60 grams. We are weighing in at 3 lbs 15 oz for Jordan and 4 lbs 13 ounces for Jaxon. If they have another big gain today like they did last night, I will and 4 pounder and a 5 pounder. Can you believe it?

I want to take a minute to thank everyone who came to my shower yesterday. It was absolutley wonderful and I'm so blessed to have such a supportive family. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers and please continue to pray for the boys, after level 2 they get to come home!

Did a double take on the shower thing - "No wait! It's not till next Sunday" I was thinking. Not a good idea to read blogs as you're running out the door I guess.:) So I'll see you NEXT Sunday here at the house for your OTHER shower!

Glad to hear the boys are in the next level NICU. In England, we had "hot", "warm" and "cool" nurseries and we were so thrilled when Chris was moved to the "warm" nursery.
